A salisbury Wedding picture Story

I’d photographed Rosalinde’s oldest brother’s wedding. Amongst many other talents he was a bit of a craftsman, and amongst other skills hand turned his own bows and arrows which were slightly scarily made available to guests at the reception. I’d photographed Rosalinde dangerously juggling champagne glass and bow so was looking forward to what she might get up to at her own wedding. And I can’t remember being with such a relaxed and sparkly eyed bride. After a church service which felt like a home game due to it being led by a chaplain who was a good family friend, Rosalinde and Andrew headed off in a old Rolls and seemed so delightfully in cahoots with each other I wondered whether they were going to bother turning up at their reception. But they did, and joined their guests at a hotel beside the river Avon. We took pictures taken under an enormous waterside willow tree as rowing boats bobbed past and ducks amiably waddled about getting in the way of the few group pictures that were made. During the wedding breakfast I heard some of the best speeches I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing - the best man’s was such a masterclass (his wit could put Stephen Fry in the shade) at first the standing ovation and clapping at his toast seemed for him, before it then merged into even wilder and louder clapping for the happy couple. And the dancing went on and on, a lovely day, and thank you Rosalinde and Andrew. Some of my favourites are below.
